Our emphasis is on designing contemporary products using traditional handicrafts. Working with small factories, often family or village run, we produce clean-lined handmade items that are not mass produced. As a result, we support village based economies to increase the standard of living in those areas.

Crimson Gate is a small business, itself, run by two partners - Vince Pravata and Vincent Tom. We met ten years ago and began importing antique furniture and home accessories from mainland China and Southeast Asia.

As the supply of true antiques began to dwindle, we began looking for other products to offer to the U.S. market. To distinguish ourselves we began designing our own line of products. The goal was to reinterpret the current skills of wood carving, lacquering and firing ceramics into modern pieces that would accent contemporary interiors.

The array of products is constantly changing with new products debuting each year. We are constantly finding new artisans and discovering new applications for centuries old skills.
